Art from the Alignments exhibit

McCartney, Untitled from the series Thoughts on Form, 2018–2019, Archival pigment print.

Alignments is a conversation in form between two artists, Paula McCartney and Melanie Pankau. While working separately in their respective mediums, McCartney in photography/ceramics and Pankau in drawing/painting, constructed geometries emerged. This exchange of a similar visual language happened independently and simultaneously over time. The exhibition brings together their coincidental makings of shapes, lines, and compositions.

The installation of McCartney’s photographs and ceramics, and Pankau’s painting and drawings, transform the Stephen Holl designed Architecture & Landscape Architecture Library revealing a conversation in composition, shape, line, and light.
