This exhibit features 250 books and objects that show the impact of children’s literature throughout history. Delve into rare volumes of Alice in Wonderland. View rarely displayed original artwork held by the Children’s Literature Research Collections. This includes classic works by Clement Hurd, Wanda Gág, and Gustaf Tenggren.
Curated by visiting curator and children’s book historian Leonard S. Marcus. Marcus has adapted the text for this exhibit from a version he curated in 2014 at the New York Public Library. This exhibit also celebrates the 70th anniversary of Dr. Irvin Kerlan’s first gift of children’s books and artwork to the University Libraries.
