Sejong Academy tours ‘U’ Libraries

Students from Sejong Academy, the first and only Korean immersion school in Minnesota, toured several University of Minnesota libraries last Friday, learning about Korean-related collections, resources, and services on campus.

Students from the school, a tuition-free charter school located in St. Paul, also had an opportunity to interact with the University’s Korean faculty and students’ groups.

“This program sparked Sejong Academy students’ interests in Korean language and culture and provided additional resources for teachers,” said Yao Chen, a librarian for East Asian Studies, Linguistics and ESL at the University of Minnesota. “It also promoted the communication between different campus units and fostered future partnerships.”

The students visited the University of Minnesota’s East Asian Library, the John R. Borchert Map Library, and Elmer L. Andersen Library

This event was made possible through the support of the Korea Foundation, a lead organization of Korea’s international exchange and public diplomacy initiatives.
