In Their Own Words: The Tretter Collection Transgender Oral History Project

Join us October 19 at 5:00 p.m. to celebrate the Tretter Transgender Oral History Project and a new exhibit at Elmer L. Andersen Library. We will feature vignettes from the project, artifacts, books and documents from the Tretter Collection in GLBT Studies — and entertainment from community member and international recording artist Venus DeMars. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

About the Exhibit

This exhibit highlights the diversity, resilience, and creativity of the Trans* and Gender Non-conforming community in Minneapolis and throughout the Upper Midwest, through images, storytelling, film, and critical conversations. The content draws from material in the Tretter Collection in GLBT Studies and the Transgender Oral History Project currently underway.

The exhibition is open October 13, 2017 through January 31, 2018
