Opening reception with Leonard S. Marcus

This event will celebrate the opening the exhibit, The ABC of It: Why Children’s Books Matter. The event includes a discussion between author Leonard S. Marcus and Lisa Von Drasek, Curator of the University’s Children’s Literature Research Collections, followed by a book signing.

When: Wednesday, February 27, 2019 | Doors open at 5:30, program at 6:00 p.m.
Where: CHANGE: Willey Hall 125 — directly adjacent to Elmer L. Andersen Library. Staff will be available to provide directions.

About the exhibit

The ABC of It exhibit runs from February 11 through June 14, 2019 at Elmer L. Andersen Library and celebrates the 70th anniversary of Dr. Irvin Kerlan’s gifts to the University of Minnesota.

Over 240 pieces of original artwork, correspondence, books, and materials have been selected from the internationally recognized Kerlan Collection to explore the impact of children’s literature in society and culture over time.
