Kerlan Award Ceremony, honoring Betsy and Ted Lewin

Illustrators and children’s book authors Betsy and Ted Lewin have been selected to receive the 2016 Kerlan Award. This husband and wife team, both Caldecott Honorees for separate books, have written and/or illustrated more than 250 picture books between them. Their latest collaboration is titled How To Babysit A Leopard, and other True Stories From Our Travels Across Six Continents.
The award ceremony at 1:00 p.m. is free and open to the public. Tickets are required to attend the noon lunch: $25 for the general public; $20 for Kerlan Friends. Reserve your ticket online and pay with cash or check at the door.
About the Kerlan Award
The Kerlan Award is given by the Children’s Literature Research Collections at the University of Minnesota in recognition of singular attainments in the creation of children’s literature and in appreciation of the generous donation of unique resources to the Kerlan Collection for the study of children’s literature.
