IN PERSON: Introduction to Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku)

Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Come slow down, de-stress from your daily routine, and deepen your connection to nature. It is different than other nature experiences such as hiking or birding; in forest bathing, we will be slowing down with intentionality and engaging all of our senses through some activities. Give your mind and body some time to rest, wander and wonder in nature.
Join Kristen Mastel, Certified Forest Therapy Guide and Outreach Librarian, to discover “Forest Bathing” (The Art of Shinrin-yoku), what it is, along with its health and wellness benefits.
The workshop is designed to maintain appropriate social distancing between participants and will follow University and CDC guidelines.
We will meet at the Natural Resources Library and then go to Mullen Woods, Horticulture Department gardens, Bell Museum gardens, or Sarita Wetlands.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. We walk in all types of weather unless determined unsafe. If unsafe, we will still have the workshop, but host it online and use our own windows for the activities.
