Middle and High School students preparing History Day projects from the Twin Cities area and beyond are invited to attend the Wilson Library Gopherbaloo on Saturday, January 19, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for young researchers to experience Minnesota’s largest research library while taking advantage of:
- Power conferences — students can sign up for a one-on-one meeting with a History Day mentor.
- Mini lessons — short presentations offered by Minnesota Historical Society staff on various History Day topics.
- Research support from librarians — staff will help students navigate our vast collection of print and electronic resources. Guests can also visit specialized research hubs hosted by Government Publications, Minitex, Twin Cities Public Television, the East Side Freedom Library, and more!
- Sample project viewing — students can learn how to create a winning documentary, exhibit, website, performance, or paper.
There will also be prize drawings, free printing, free photocopying, and a parent lounge with refreshments. This event is sponsored in collaboration with the Minnesota Historical Society, University of Minnesota Department of History, and Minitex. Please contact Phil Dudas with questions.
