Ananya Chatterjea was the featured speaker at last week’s A Feast of Words, an annual event and collaboration of the Friends of the Libraries and the Campus Club. The title of her presentation was “Dancing for the Constitution.”
Chatterjea’s work uses dance to push back against the politics of hate and division in the Republic of India. Chatterjea, a professor in the U of M’s Theatre Arts and Dance department, is native of Kolkata. She shared her artistic journey and the cultural origins of her practice in Indian dance.
