Ongoing exhibit

Yarn, knotting, and color are used symbolically to raise awareness about domestic homicide in the United States. The installation, No Private Matter, offers a sensitive, poignant, and beautiful visual meditation on a distressing issue.

Julie Sirek is a fiscal year 2017 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota States Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. The temporary installation is part of the Art in Wilson Library Exhibition Program, which supports University of Minnesota faculty and student artists, local artists, and diversity in the arts.
