Embroidered botanical drawings, along with related ancient herbals and domestic recipe books, from the Andersen Horticultural Library and the Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine collections, will be on exhibit to commemorate and provide a contemporary perspective on De Materia Medica, an ancient pharmacological text, by Dioscorides.

Artist Talk & Reception: September 19, 2017, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Karen Gustafson is a fiscal year 2017 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
