Typed press release describing anti-alien perceptions and deportation proposals in the United States circa 1936, making note that the country was “built up” by immigrants and their decendants. Examples of anti-alien thoughts are quoted, including “Let them go back…We have troubles enough of our own. Had we admitted fewer immigrants, there would be more jobs for the citizen.” It concludes by stating that that the source of anti-alien agitation all over the world is based on fears of unemployment and the distrust of strangers.
