Logue, Jette engage in lively discussion about mysteries

By December 3, 2014September 16th, 2023No Comments
Author Mary Logue entertained a room full of mystery writers and readers Dec. 2 and provided some gripping one-liners, such as:

“I have gone into pharmacies and asked how to kill people and they have told me.”

Of course the research was strictly for one of her mystery books, which the audience understood and was thrilled, as they responded enthusiastically throughout the one-hour discussion, led by Maria Jette, a mystery fan and member of the exclusive “Coven” of mystery lovers. Jette is also a board member for the Friends of the University of Minnesota Libraries, which sponsored the event, “The Mystery of Writing” at Elmer L. Andersen Library.

Other notable Mary Louge quotes from the discussion:

  • “All good novels are suspense novels.”
  • “I think romance is wonderful suspense.”
  • “I love talking to cops — they have just the best stories!”

About Mary Logue

Logue wrote her first mystery in sixth grade and hasn’t stopped since — as we know not only from her popular Claire Watkins mysteries, set in the Lake Pepin area, but also her new Karen Nash Librarian-Sleuth books, written under the name Mary Lou Kirwin.
