What: Exhibit opening for “Little Syria, NY: An Immigrant Community’s Life and Legacy.”

When: Thursday, October 24, 2013, 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Where: Elmer L. Andersen Library, Room 120

The exhibit, “Little Syria, NY: An Immigrant Community’s Life and Legacy,” will be on display October 10 through January 15 in the Elmer L. Andersen Library exhibit galleries. Please join us October 24 for an opening night reception.

The event begins at 4:00 p.m. with a keynote address by Devon Akmon, Director of the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. The address will be followed by a viewing of the exhibit and a reception at 5:30 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the the University of Minnesota’s Religious Studies Program, English Department, Philosophy Department, and Immigration History Research Center; the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, Michigan; Friends of the University of Minnesota Libraries and the University of Minnesota Libraries; and Mizna.
