“The addition of these two collections marks a significant increase to the Libraries’ high quality streaming offerings,” said Scott Spicer, Media Outreach and Learning Spaces Librarian. He notes that Ethnographic Video includes 1,100 titles and Filmakers Library has 1,025 titles.

“Though this content will particularly appeal to the Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities, the subject matter has coverage applicable to a diverse range of academic disciplines, including fields in Science & Engineering and the Health Sciences,” Spicer said.

Ethnographic Video Online

Ethnographic Video Online is a comprehensive online resource for the study of human culture, behavior and society around the world. The collections contain over 1,300 hours of streaming video, including ethnographic films, documentaries, select feature films, and previously unpublished fieldwork.

Filmakers Library Online

Filmakers Library Online provides award-winning documentaries with relevance across the curriculum — race and gender studies, human rights, globalization and global studies, multiculturalism, international relations, criminal justice, the environment, bioethics, health, political science and current events, psychology, arts, literature, and more. It presents points of view and historical and current experiences from diverse cultures and traditions world-wide.

In addition to being searchable through the Libraries’ catalog, these resources also have been added to the Libraries’ Digital Video Collections Guide and its Streaming Video page.
